David Gu, BScThere has been a trend of young adults who do not participate in voting. Everyone has their own reasons for choosing not to vote, however the most common excuse is that many non-voters are simply unaware of political matters and thus don’t feel compelled to vote. I was a part of this demographic. My pod was passionate about spreading awareness of the importance of voting as it can greatly impact our future. As we set up our “informational booth” by the school cafeteria, I was surprised at the number of people who stopped by to either inquire or even register to vote! This made me realise that our brief stint at the cafeteria had made a slight difference in the grand scheme. I’ve learned the importance of voting throughout this process and wish to continue to spread the awareness. YOVO..per election!
